Walloping Disappointment

The biggest disappointment of the social networking websites has been Wallop. I was a very early member of Wallop, having joined in 2004 when it was a research project at Microsoft. At the time, I was amazed with Wallop's UI and the UI still remains quite fantastic. That said, it hasn't changed much in over 2 years. There was one minor upgrade where they failed to migrate the existing users and made everybody sign-up again and recreate their profiles. In fact, even though I already had an existing profile, I had to acquire another invite to use the latest site. I also needed to re-invite all my contacts and since they only give out a handful of invites, I've only re-invited a fraction of my friends. Imagine if MySpace restarted and asked all their users to re-input their profiles and re-invite their friends. That would suck and Wallop sucks too!
